What we collect, and why
The Risk Profiler
You can complete the Risk Profiler without giving us anything at all. Your answers stay in your browser and are not sent anywhere unless you fill in the form at the end and tick the consent box.
If you do ask for your report, we receive and store:
- your name and email address;
- your answers to the thirteen questions, including the indicative portfolio-scale band if you chose to give one;
- the profile the tool produced, and a numerical score we use to prioritise follow-up;
- the date and time you completed it.
We use this to send you your report, and so that Abhineet can respond to you having actually read your answers rather than generically.
The Risk Profiler is not a suitability assessment. Its output is educational and does not form part of any regulated advice process. If you later become a client, your attitude to risk and capacity for loss are assessed separately and properly.
Enquiries and newsletter
If you contact us or subscribe to the newsletter we collect the name, email address and any message you provide, so that we can reply or send you the newsletter.
When you send an enquiry we also record the date on which you confirmed you had read this notice, and we send you an automatic acknowledgement by email so that you have written confirmation your message arrived. When you subscribe to the newsletter we record the date you subscribed and generate a unique code that identifies your subscription, so that you can unsubscribe without having to prove who you are.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting providers process standard server logs, including IP address and browser type, to deliver the site securely and to detect abuse. We use this website's submission endpoint with rate limiting, which necessarily involves briefly processing your IP address.
This site does not use advertising cookies and does not track you across other websites.
Our lawful basis
| What | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Risk Profiler submission and follow-up contact | Your consent, given by ticking the box. You may withdraw it at any time. |
| Replying to an enquiry you sent us | Legitimate interests — responding to someone who has contacted us. |
| Newsletter | Your consent. Every newsletter carries an unsubscribe link. |
| Server logs, security and abuse prevention | Legitimate interests — keeping the site available and secure. |
When you send an enquiry we ask you to confirm you have read this notice. That confirmation is a record that we told you how we would use your details. It is not consent to marketing, and it is not what we rely on to reply to you.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We use a small number of processors who handle data on our instructions:
- Resend — email delivery.
- Google Workspace — the mailbox that receives your enquiry and the firm's own email.
- Hostinger — the server that hosts this website and runs the database and the applications behind the Risk Profiler, the enquiry form and the newsletter.
Where a processor is outside the UK, transfers are made under the safeguards required by UK data protection law.
How long we keep it
Risk Profiler submissions and website enquiries are kept for 24 months from the date you send them, and then deleted. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe; when you unsubscribe we remove your record within 30 days. If you become a client, separate retention rules apply to your client records and we will tell you about them at the time.
How it is protected
Data is transmitted over an encrypted connection. The database is not reachable from the public internet and is accessible only to the application and to authorised personnel. Access is limited to those who need it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask what we hold about you, and get a copy of it;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data deleted;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- receive it in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting anything done before you withdrew it.
To exercise any of these, email abhineetrai@raiwm.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or by calling 0303 123 1113. We would rather you told us first, so we can put it right.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle personal data we will update this page and the date at the top. Where the change is significant, we will tell people who have given us their email address.
